Panajachel

The laid back village with a big river running through it has been popular since the 60’s. It is like one of those places in the world that have a circle of hippies that never left, the 60’s. I am one of them and really enjoy living in Panajachel. It’s nice mixture of Mayan and modern culture through art and expression is the very aspect “we” have to offer to tourists travelling to Panajachel, Guatemala.

Nature Reserve

Nature Reserve Atitlan

At the natural reserve, just outside of Panajachel you can enjoy Zip-lines, hiking trails that are set out and lead you to waterfalls over hanging bridges through beautiful natural surroundings with a bird watch centre and spider monkeys to encounter. This activity is great for the whole family to enjoy and includes a butterfly reserve to visit.

Lake Atitlan Marathon

The Lake Atitlan Marathon had its debut in 2012. A 3 day sport and fun-event for the whole family including various activities were organized around the lake. The Marathon, half-Marathon, kids fun-race and a bike race were highly appreciated by participants from all of the world.
